Hard rock veterans AC/DC have confirmed their first world tour in eight years, an 18-month jaunt set to kick off this October.

It was their agent Rob Light, managing partner at Creative Artists Agency, who made the announcement during a panel at the International Association of Assembly Managers' conference and trade show.

The band are rumoured to kick off their massive world tour to promote the Anglo-Australian band's upcoming album on Halloween with a Chicago concert. Their new single will reportedly be called 'Rock & Roll Train' and is expected to be aired on US radio around August 28th.

It will be the first single off their new record, rumoured to be titled 'Black Ice', which will be the band's first new release since 2000's 'Stiff Upper Lip'.

Details of the countries or venues the band will visit have not yet been confirmed, but Light said it had been two-plus years in the making. The colossal tour, traversing 17 countries, is destined to hit mostly arenas.
