Dirty Pretty Things frontman Carl Barat in hospital

pancreatitis might scupper appearance at Glastonbury. October tour tickets on sale Friday

news: Wednesday 18th June 2008

The Dirty Pretty Things' lead singer Carl Barat was taken to hospital yesterday morning with stomach pains, and has now been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis.

He will be kept under observation until Saturday and may need surgery. The hospitalisation means that the band's appearance at Real Fits Foundation presents Night Of Real Fits on Friday has been cancelled, and their performance at Glastonbury Festival next week, currently looks unlikely.

Carl Barat will hopefully have recovered in time to join Dirty Pretty Things on the road this October, as they have announced a tour of the country.

The tour dates are:
Sat 04 October Glasgow ABC, Glasgow
Sun 05 October Cameo Picturehouse, Edinburgh
Tue 07 October Manchester Academy, University, Manchester
Wed 08 October Leeds Metropolitan University SU, Leeds
Thu 09 October Wulfrun Hall, Wolverhampton
Sat 11 October Keele University SU, Newcastle Under-Lyme
Sun 12 October The Junction, Cambridge
Mon 13 October LCR at University of East Anglia (UEA), Norwich
Tue 14 October Roundhouse Theatre, London
Thu 16 October Carling Academy, Oxford
Sat 18 October Guildhall, Southampton
