Raging Speedhorn split

cancelling all their April UK gigs

news: Wednesday 26th March 2008

Northamptonshire metallers Raging Speedhorn are calling it a day after around ten years together. The news was released in a statement from the band.

Here is the statement from the band:

I'm a little sad to say that after this year, 2008, Raging Speedhorn will be no more. Some of our old friends knew this already but a while ago we decided that after 10 years it is time to move on and do something else, create something new.

10 years feels like a really long time and we all feel absolutely blessed to have been part of this band. We have travelled the world playing Speedhorn songs, we've toured the US, Japan and Europe numerous times and played just about every shit hole there is to play in our beloved UK!

With our last record, we really felt like there was nothing left to do. We feel like 'Before the Sea Was Built' is an apt way to sign off.

We've all come a long way from being 19 years old and living in Corby. And now it's time to make the next transition and move on to pastures new. I'm sure plenty of new projects will arise involving one or two of us.

So sorry to anyone who has bought tickets for the shows we had booked in April in the UK, but we've had to cancel the tour.

It is expected the band will be doing their final-ever Europen shows in May and July. Raging Speedhorn was formed in 1998 from the merging of the bands Soulcellar and Box and quickly established themselves as a major presence within the UK's metal scene. They went on to become internationally recognised working with bands such as Biohazard and Ministry. Their last CD release was 'Before The Sea Was Built' which was released in September 2007.

Fans who bought tickets to their shows in Manchester, Glasgow, Nuneaton, Brighton, and London shows are advised to contact the ticket vendors for more details.
