great news P Diddy to quit

let's hope his acting career takes off

Great news, the ear gratingly annoying poor rapper P Diddy (Sean Combs) has told Hollywood Scoop (here) that he's finally planning to give up his lame music, which involves sampling other people's hooks, to pursue a full-time career in acting.

The music producer apparently wants to be known as 'Sean John' after courts upheld the right for London DJ/producer Richard "Diddy" Dearlove to use the name "Diddy" within the UK. He has scaled down his hip-hop projects in recent years, not because they were doing badly, on no, so he can expand his acting career that includes a Broadway performance in 'A Raisin in the Sun' and a wooden performance in 2001 Oscar-winning movie (the Oscar wasn't for him) in Monster's Ball.

Combs recently revealed he would be reprising his Broadway role in a TV version of A Raisin in the Sun - and he hopes it will help him make a move to acting full-time, that and the huge wedge of dosh he's thrown at acting lessons.

He said to Hollywood Scoop, "Right now I'm transitioning from a recording artist to acting. Having an opportunity to play this role, it really changed my life. I had an opportunity to open up as an artist, and I learned so much. Every role I get, I feel I'm getting better."

P Diddy and footballer star Rio Ferdinand (perhaps we was going to rap too?) were teaming up to put together a 'peace gig' to take place later this year. Guess this news means that won't be happening. News from last year indicated the concert would take place at London's Wembley Arena or the O2 Dome.

The concert was reported as a 'gift back to the UK' after P Diddy and Snoop Dogg had to cancel their UK leg of their European tour. Looks like any fans of Diddy will miss out on seeing him again and the rest of us can breather easier knowing the huge hype machine won't be wheeled in to try and flog tickets.
