'Phoenix' album and tour

System 7 have announced a new 'manga' inspired album and a tour to promote it.

The psychedelic techno outfit boasting Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy have announced the following tour dates to promote the new album 'Phoenix':

Fri Feb 15th Rescue Rooms, Nottingham
Sat Feb 16th Trinity, Bristol Launch Party 1 + Eat Static
Thu Feb 21st Heaven, London - Launch Party 2 + Eat Static
Sat Mar 8th Concorde 2, Brighton + Eat Static
Fri Mar 14th King Tuts, Glasgow
Sat Mar 15th Academy 2, Manchester + Eat Static
Sat Apr 12th Phoenix, Exeter + Eat Static

The new album is inspired by the manga graphic novel series "Phoenix" by Osamu Tezuka - one of the founding fathers of Japanese manga culture. System 7 have collaborated with Son Kite, Jam El Mar, Eat Static, SlackBaba, Daevid Allen of Gong and Japanese bass player Mito from the band Clammbon in making the album released next Monday the 28th January.

System 7's website says Phoenix's music, "portrays, in a variety of ways, travel through time and space, life, death and rebirth, with each track inspired by characters or images from the books, and described in the 12-page booklet that comes with the CD."
