Irish Choice Music Prize shortlist announced

The Choice Music Prize is a music award given annually to the best full-length Irish album based on artistic merit, regardless of genre, sales, or record label.

The award was established in 2006 and is modelled after the Mercury Prize, and is handed to the best Irish album over the past year.

The winning album is selected by a panel of media professionals drawn from print, radio, TV and online sectors from all over Ireland.

The shortlist is:
Adrian Crowley - Long Distance Swimmer
Cathy Davey - Tales Of Silversleeve
Delorentos - In Love With Detail
Dry County - Unexpected Falls
The Flaws - Achieving Vagueness
David Geraghty - Kill Your Darlings
Kila Gambler's - Ballet
Roisin Murphy - Overpowered
Stanley Super 800 - Louder & Clearer
Super Extra Bonus Party - Super Extra Bonus Party

The winner will be announced at a live event on 27th February 2007 at Vicar Street in Dublin.
