Fancy having your band perform at Benicassim festival?

unsigned band competition

news: Thursday 4th January 2007

Fancy having your band perform to a potential crowd of 40,000 at Spain’s Benicassim festival?

Thanks to the Islington based cocktail bar ‘The Cedar Room’ unsigned acoustic acts are being given the chance to fight for a spot on the bill of this year’s Benicassim festival, and have all their expenses paid.

Entrants are being asked to email info@thecedarroom.co.uk with a link to samples of their music. If you’re interested you must be quick as it is only the first 60 acts to sign up that will be able to compete for this prize.

The first heats for the competition will take place on Sunday 14th January, and will then be held from Sunday to Thursday each week from 8pm. It works is by giving each member of the audience a single vote per night for them to decide which act will progress to the next round.

The three levels of heats will lead to the final at The Pigalle Club on Sunday 11th February where the winner will be decided by an industry panel.

Benicassim takes place from Thursday 19th until Sunday 22nd July. Tickets are on sale, priced at £105 for a 4-day pass, or £97 for a three day pass. Click here to buy.
