Paul Simon announces rare UK tour

tickets will go on sale tomorrow


Paul Simon has announced a rare full UK tour this summer.

As half of the legendary duo, Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon was one of the most influential songwriters of the 1960s and 70s, and his status as both a solo singer-songwriter and as one half of perhaps the most influential popular music duo of all time, is at least one step above legendary.

The tour will celebrate the release of of Paul's latest album 'So Beautiful Or So What', his first new record in five years, due out in June.

The set list is likely to draw from his iconic career, including 'Mrs Robinson', 'Bridge Over Troubled Water', 'Graceland', 'Mother And Child Reunion' and several songs that haven't been performed live in many years.

Also included in the set will be songs from his brand new album. Joining Paul for this tour is a stellar band of musicians including Cameroonian guitarist Vincent Nguini, drummer Jim Oblon and pianist Mick Rossi, There is also saxophonist/keyboardist Andrew Snitzer, bassist Bakithi Kumalo, guitarist Mark Stewart, master percussionist Jamey Haddad and multi-instrumentalist Tony Cedras.

Paul Simon will play the following dates:

Thu 23 June Royal Centre, Nottingham
Fri 24 June Clyde Auditorium, Glasgow
Mon 27 June Bournemouth International Centre, Bournemouth
Tue 28 June HMV Hammersmith Apollo, London
Thu 30 June NIA Academy, Birmingham
Sun 03 July O2 Apollo, Manchester

Tickets will be priced from £55, and go sale from 9am tomorrow, Friday 25th March, and eGigs will have links to buy them then.
