new multi million pound venue for Eastbourne

A new purpose built multi-million pound venue is coming to Eastbourne. Launching on Saturday 18th November Funktion Rooms is billing itself as; "a cutting edge, multi-room, multi-faceted music venue offering premier nights in an environment that is second to none".

The venue, ran by London club operator Rob Jackson, cost £2.7 million and is has an unusual design, linking together three clubs in one, able to function either as one complete space or as individual clubs independent of each other.

Each club includes it’s own toilets, DJ booth, cloakroom and bars allowing for events of all sizes, styles and vibes. The top club ‘The Penthouse’ has a capacity of 200 and includes VIP booths, table service, and ‘exquisite’ furnishings. The 400 capacity ‘Gallery’ has a mezzanine balcony overlooking the main floor, high level podiums for dancers and a DJ booth that sits high above the crowd. Finally, the 130 capacity 'Sub Club' is an underground club with raw brickword, low ceilings and an intimate dance space.


The weekly run down of what’s on, on what nights is as follows:

Saturdays will be The Saturday Sessions.
3 rooms of music for the more discerning clubber featuring local talent alongside DJS and clubbing brands. November and December will see names such as: Ali B, ATFC, Soul Avengerz, Miss Moneypenny’s and MN2S rock up for their flag ship night.

Mondays will be Happy Mondays.
An eclectic night that is free for all students and offers 3 rooms of mainstream entertainment. The Penthouse Open-Dex sessions look set to draw aspiring DJS from far and wise for a Monday might mash up.

Wednesdays will be Subsonic LIVE.
An indie night that will run in the sub club only. The intimate night will showcase some of the best up and coming talent emerging from the music industry. With live bands from established promoters such as Club Fandango, Till Death Do Us Party, Audio Candy and Club Izumi on rotation, this is a must for all forward thinking alternative music lovers.

Thursdays will be Urban Thursdays.
The venue’s flagship urban night will feature 3 rooms dedicated to R&B, Hip Hop, D&B and more.

Fridays will be Fuzion.
As the name implies it will be the best music fused together across 3 floors: Commercial, indie, electro and alternative – you can choose the room that suits you!
