New venue opens in Manchester

A new casino is opening in Manchester’s Great Northern Warehouse tonight. The casino, known as Manchester 235 will combine two restaurants with a new live music venue.Manchester 235, Manchester

Live bands will play in a venue called 235 Live, which is "Designed to showcase an eclectic mix of contemporary music and comedy, feature established UK and international artists, the hottest DJs, up and coming bands and the best in UK comedy." (www.manchester235.com)

Tiny Dancers will be kicking off proceedings tonight (27th October). Other bands lined up to play the venue in the next few months include Paris Motel, Larrikin Love, Little Man Tate, Battle, The Longcut, and The Films.

The casino itself features 14 roulette tables, 10 blackjack tables and a poker-room that will double as a conference room. The two restaurants will be Numero, which will be serving modern Italian food and Linen, which will serve modern British food.

Manchester 235 occupies 46,000 sq ft of the Grade II listed building, which has remained unoccupied since it reopened in 2002 after a £72m makeover.
