Keane

Rock City, Nottingham on Monday 8 November 2004

Tickets for this show had sold out a long time ago, and so it was with some eager anticipation that we made our way to Rock City to catch one of the hottest new bands around.

Keane

To say that Keane have had one hell of a successful year would be an understatement- they seem unable to do anything wrong. Surely they can't be faultless live as well, can they?

Keane opened the nights set with 'Can't Stop Now', which the audience just lapped up. Keane then decided to play one of their biggest hits- 'Everybody's Changing' which quite literally raised the roof with everybody singing along to this melodic masterpiece.

Keane

In no time at all- Keane had practically whizzed through- 'Sunshine', 'We Might As Well Be Strangers', and 'Bend and Break'. The band seemed to be like a well-oiled machine- they just played the songs effortlessly and passionately. Which in turn caused the audience to enjoy every little note of every song.

Unfortunately like all good things- it must end at some point and sure enough after the dying notes of 'Somewhere Only We Know' had finished reverberating throughout the venue- the band waved goodbye. As always the fans were shouting for an encore- and Keane kindly obliged with 'This Is The Last Time' and brought the entire night to a close with 'Bedshaped'- which left every member of the audience on a high.

Keane

This is a band who have not only mastered the art of recording a decent album- but have managed to be able to pull it off live as well- with their dazzling stage lighting and incredible melodies Keane will be hard to beat for talent.
