Does anybody know the reason why this great little venue no longer seems interested in booking younger bands? The winter months always used to be a great time to see bands here:

Blur
Oasis
Manics
Verve
Placebo
Stones Roses
The Smiths
Charlatans
The Cure and many more

This winter sees The Saw Doctors and Status Quo sad.gif , I know its council funded so does anybody work there or know why this is happening. It’s a 50 mile journey to the toon to see a decent band now. mad.gif

hey i live near middlesbrough...it is a shame no 'big' bands play but if you ever go the crypt thats well worth it...although the bands may not be super big like oasis as you say but they have the telewest arena now...bands like [spunge] and ex-ska band farse played there plus bowling for soup, with jesse james and again farse. they are amazing talent and if you want to see 'big' bands why not just hop along to the telewest (metro radio) arena and see bands there like greenday who were f***ing amazing last night there!
