I would totally have to agree on that one, Favourite track, Superstylin'. I can't wait to see them at the apollo, specially as I missed them at TinthePark coz the tent was full!

They were the absolute highlight of Glastonbury and I can't wait to see them at the Apollo. Agreed the new album's brilliant.
wee_insomniac
woohoo!!! Groove Armada tonight!!! Can't Wait biggrin.gif should be amazing
crewealexfan
Any idea who the support is tonight?
wee_insomniac
I think Spektrum are supporting, I saw them support !!! a few weeks ago, and they are alright.

Wow, what an amazing gig. They sounded great and precise. The trombone playing was perfect, and the crowd all got really into it. The only thing is that the doors opened at 8pm, the support act, Spektrum, came on at 9.30, and Groove Armada came on at 10.30! But the gig didn't finish until about 12.15 after 2 encores. They also really looked like they all wanted to be there and were really feeding off the crowd.

I didn't particularly enjoy Spektrum, she just seemed to wail on a bit to me unsure.gif

But Groove Armada were absolutely wicked!! The trombone bit for At The River (if that's when you meant) was so perfect I doubted at first that they were doing it live!!!!

How many people left after the first encore, my ohh my what they missed!!! ohmy.gif tongue.gif

.......And how good was Sankey's afterwards?????!
crewealexfan
D'oh! I left after the first encore

*looks for a smilie banging it's head against the wall*

go on then, what did I miss?

Thought the gig was stunning - sound, lights, crowd, everything. And finishing the night off in Sankey's was, well, perfect.

Superstylin for a start!!!

I think, or did they do that in the first encore??

I can't quite remember now but it didn't finish until 12.30, what time did you leave??
crewealexfan
They finished the first encore with superstylin' and I left just after that - that was about midnight. I think I was just too keen to get to the club - should be more patient in future.

The Guardian have reviewed the Apollo gig, given it four stars, but the review is pretty vague.

Yeah, I think you should, especially as Sankey's is open till 4am!!!

Did you spend more time upstairs or downstairs in Sankeys?? Downstairs was wicked but got a bit heavy for me later on (I don't take pills!!), it was also far too hot down there, especially after already being sweaty from the gig, ewwwww.

So we spent most of our time upstairs in the nice air conditioned room, and obviously it was a bonus to see Groove Armada up there, AGAIN!!!

I was really keen to go 'cos it was my first visit to Sankey's. I've heard a few people recommend it recently and I thought post-Groove Armada would be an ideal time. It was! I shall definitely be a regular as often as I can afford it.

I spent most of the time downstairs but did pop upstairs for a bit - thought the tunes were better downstairs. What are fridays like there, pretty similar?

Yeah the tunes were better downstairs, I agree, it's just nice to be able to breathe every now and then, and dry off a bit in the air-conditioning!

I've only ever been on a Saturday before but I'm off to see Faithless on Friday 10th December so I might end up in there again, I'll let you know what it's like if I do.

As they're called Tribel Sessions on a Friday I'd imagine they're a bit different from Saturdays!!!

What's that tune called of the bbc radio one advert off the moment that they played in Sankey's on Saturday? I love it!!!!
