First of all let me just say; LOST PROFITS ROCK. This was one of the most energetic gigs I’ve been to, from the minute they came on stage to the minute they left I was hooked on adrenalin.
Lets start form the top. I got there just as the support band –18 visions- came on stage. I had heard little or nothing of this US based band before, but I was impressed. With a charismatic front man and an extremely psycho bass player, they had the format for an amazing rock band. Hope to see a lot more of them in the future.
Anyway, lets get down to business. I’m a big fan of The Lost Profits, so my opinion may be slightly bias, but its not very often you get to see a band which truly defines the words ‘Rock Concert’. Everything you could and should expect from a gig they provide, plus a little ‘fuck the system’ on the end for your troubles. Playing all the crowd favourites (Last train home, Burn, burn) from there latest album Start Something took up most of the set, but that didn’t prevent them from blasting out a few old songs from there debut album, which sounded fresh. I for one had not heard much of them before Start Something was released, and so I WILL be rushing to the shops this weekend in search of previous material.
For those of you who are into rock, but not necessarily into the Profits, I ask you forget everything you think you know about this courageous band from Wales (of all places) and give up one precious evening to see them. You’ll be thanking me afterwards. The presence of their lead singer alone is enough to get you jumping, but that does doesn’t distract from the energy released by the band as a whole. Every member of the band is an artist in there own right, but put them together and you get the phenomena that is; The Lost Profits.
