As a visitor from out of town I was impressed, we dont have venues like this any more, all the old school has vanished to make way for glass and chrome, not a sticky carpet in sight.
Rock City was like revisiting a club from my youth and instantly brought a big grin to my face.
Quick and easy to get in with many smiles from the staff.
Top mid sized venue. Good view of the stage from everywhere though right at the back behind some giants your push your luck.

Yeah I was there earlier this year and it hasn't changed since I first went years ago.
I heard it was threatened with closure recently due to noise complaints being upheld and the owners subsequently being ordered to carry out costly improvements.

However a google reveals this which implies a refurb is planned.

A referb has been carried out on it- so rock city lives on :-)

going for the first time in about 4 years in a few weeks..look forward to seeing how it's changed

not even a refurb can stop it they just packed everyone into the rig and basement it was nice but the main room looks better now they done the roof up

you dont need to worry about touching the walls anymore.
top venue.

rescue rooms is a great venue in notts aswell. and the arena isnt that bad, the sound is awful, but we wont go into that.

stealth is tiny

i'm not a huge fan of rock city personally. the social is my favourite venue in nottingham, lovely little place.
