Was just wondering what are the worst/best cover bands you guys have seen?? I used to be in a cover band covering The Stone Roses but we were pretty awful and never got anywhere.

Has anyone ever seen a cover band better than the real band themselves? I'm watching the Backbeat Beatles soon and cant wait. Its gonna be awesome!!

There's some pretty god awful cover band names. Stereoironics for example. I want to see Whole Lotta Led. I don't see the point in seeing cover bands of bands that are still going.

AC Beebies are quite funny! Not too bad either.

they are very good

i never used too really. until i wanted to see Rod Stewart and it was going to be £55 to sit fucking miles away, or £8 to see the tribute act down our local pub and get hammered with all my friends.

as for good tribute acts, the best i have seen is Gary Mullen and The Works a tribute to Queen. they really are brilliant. Gary Mullen won stars in their eyes as Freddie a few years ago

The Jam's drummer is in a Jam tribute band, but he claims they're not actually a tribute band. His argument is that "Paul Weller plays Jam songs - you wouldn't call him a tribute act". Yet Weller plays his own material as well. This band JUST plays Jam songs. SOunds like a tribute act to me.

Hayseed Dixie. Not a tribute band, but definately a different take on a covers band (AC/DC).
