The Pogues, MEN Arena, Manchester 18/12/04 - Brilliant Gig

There's an excellent piece on Shane Mcgowen in this month's issue of Word - though he does hint this is the end of them playing live after next year.

well just recovered from birmingham gig,and gotta say it was brilliant.
shane was on top form ,the band sounded great.
they played all the hits and seemed to really enjoy playing live together again.
shane looked liked he lost a bit of weight from last time he was on tv.
went down the front and the atmosphere was amazing.

as for the acadamey that was my first time there and thought venue was fine.

roll on march 17th shepherds bush empire ,he`ll be back with the popes then ,but still a great nite out.

just wish he`d release some new material

Went to the MEN gig which was ace and made even better by excellent support from the sawdoctors. Bit of a shame to have to see the others nursemaiding Shane through it all but in a way thats a bit of what makes a Pogues gig really.
