Eeeeek! Seems that the Astoria is threatend with a compulsory purchase order so that the site its on can be used as access to the works site of the crossrail project.

the site would be 'permenantly' purchased, i.e, no chance of a rebuild either.

So if this goes ahead, not only is London losing (as the petition states) a highly popular and individual club but a cracking gig venue aswell.

im appalled at the possiblity of this happening.

Someone I know at Mean Fiddler and I had a discussion about this the other day and she was pretty certain that it is going.

Both Astoria and Mean Fiddler in fact.

well they are connected together i think.
