Anyone here have any of their albums or seen them live? For anyone who doesn't know, they are a 20+ piece band founded by former Tripping Daisy member Tim Delaughter. The band consists of a choir, and instruments included are percussion, guitar, harp theremin, violin, drums, flute, french horn and more. They are very unique sounding and to see them live is one of the best musical euphoric experiences you can ever have. They are from Texas and have gained most of their recognition from playing at a festival with David Bowie, who was so amazed by them that he helped them gain success and recognition over here. They have often been wrongly accused as a cult, mainly because they wear robes on stage.
Their music is totally uplifting and they are well worth checking out. They have 2 albums out and a 3rd to be release within the next couple of months.

This is a link to their unofficial forum, where you can find out more about them and catch the odd dowload and just generally meet a great bunch of fans from UK, USA, Canada and Europe.

That's a great review! I've sen them at Birmingham, Northampton, Coventry and London and everytime they have just blown me away. I've been to tons of gigs and my main love is rock/metal and out of all the bands I've ever seen live, these are one of the most awesome acts ever.

Was you ever invoved in the official forum?

I think I've seen them 8 times now. I've been lucky enough to meet a lot of the members, over the past few years, as well as a lot of the lovely forum members.

Which of the unofficial sites do you mean? I know of at least two that have 'branched' off.

There amazing. One of the best bands ive ever seen live. Ive only seen them at festivals (want to go and see an actul show of theres) but at reading i lost my mates in the croud (i went too far forwards and i think they pissed off thinking id gone mad). It was amazing the buzz was increadble. At the end this huge sweaty man came up and hugged me, seemed some how to sum up the whole show. I preceded to go and reenforce my mates view by going back to my campsite and banging on about them whelst drunk for the rest of the night.

The thing I love about their shows is the positive effect it has on people, it's almost euphoric. Some people just don't get that and think that they're nothing but tree hugging hippies..or weirdo's! haha...but it's an experience that just shouldn't be missed. You should definately try and see them play at a smaller venue, it's much more personal...and you should definately check out the forum too! wink.gif
