With a rapid rise in popularity, Reverand And The Makers are definitely making a name for themselves thanks to their fusion of indie-funk music. Hot on the heels of friends, Arctic Monkeys, with whom they have recently toured, Reverend And The Makers are on the verge of becoming one of the breakthrough bands of 2006.

There's hints of The Specials in the stories, melodic nods to The Stone Roses; imagine the Happy Mondays with a stronger moral compass and the ability to get out of bed in the mornings.

"For those versed in Arctic Monkeys folklore, The Reverend, aka The Reverend Jon Rarsclart, aka Jon McLure is a crucial, yet mysterious figure. The band’s links to him originate from a turn-of-the-century Sheffield community music-style project called Judan Suki, which Alex and Matt were a part of. After that, formed the electro-pop band 1984 - as namechecked in 'I Bet You Look Good..." (NME)
dirty weekend
I've seen em a couple of times at the kuba, in stockton-on-tees, they are by far the best band ive seen this year! I went to the recent NME tour and was completley unimpressed, the rev and the makers are miles better than any of the bands who where on that tour!
