The Deadbeats a five piece blues, rock ’n’ roll band from Manchester are fast becoming the one of the biggest tipped bands in the UK. After winning Manchester’s battle of the bands, supporting Pete Doherty, and getting down to the final 6 from 1500 entries to play Glastonbury 2005 and actually winning. After a blistering performance, Michael Eavis simply wrote "winners" next to the Deadbeats name on his score sheet and the Deadbeats secured a place at this year’s festival.
After cutting an impressive demo the track ‘Emptying My Pockets’, recorded in Toerag studio appeared in Papercut magazines ‘best of Manchester’s Unsigned’ CD.
With there debut single out very shortly and packed out venues. There are few rock n’ roll bands that can give an energetic set whilst sitting down, but the Deadbeats always create a party atmosphere with incredible foot-stomping energy. This was epitomized by their performance at the Manchester Academy. This band is hotly tipped to big things this year.
