We caught up with Mark from Hybrid at Musik's 5th Birthday @ The End, just 3 days before Homelands England.

How did the 'Kid' track come about with Chrissie Hynde?

We got asked to do a track to use in Kevin and Perry Go Large, and we wanted to use that tune. She actually got a copy of a remix from somewhere and said she'd do it. So she came down to the studio, late, as a rock star does, and Harry Enfield was there as well. So I walked in, Harry Enfield swung round and dropped coffee everywhere. It was just one of those surreal days. She did two takes and it was done. We were hoping to have a longer set at Homelands, but because it's for MTV as well, we're only going to do ¼ hour, 20 minutes, but we'll hopefully do something longer at Glastonbury and v2000 as well. Homelands we're doing with Chrissie, so we're doing a special mix of it.

Who will you be seeing there?

Definitely Leftfield, the other idiot who's playing downstairs [at The End], Brian [BT]. I wouldn't mind seeing Ian Brown as well. But at Homelands we're arriving at lunchtime and leaving at 6 in the morning, 'cause when we did Creamfields, we got there, did the gig, and then went, "Right, we've got to leave". So we'll have a good wander round at Homelands. The set up at Winchester is the best one, last year there were four of us watching Sasha and Digweed, and they actually played a couple of our tunes. That was absolutely amazing.

Thanks to Andy and Matt from Plug for their help.
