The line-up for Mencap's Little Noise Sessions held again this year at St.John-at-Hackney from Tuesday 20th until Sunday 25th November
2012 has been announced.
Host and curator, Jo Whiley, announced the line-up which includes headliners Richard Hawley, The Maccabees presenting their new album 'Given To The Wild', and Noah and the Whale.
Also set to perform are First Aid Kit, King Charles, Jamie N Commons, Villagers, Lucy Rose, and Daughter, with a raft of performers and special guests still to be announced.
Now in their seventh year, Mencap's Little Noise Sessions take world-class bands
out of their comfort zone to present a rawer, purer sound meaning the crowd
get to witness something very special each night.
Jo Whiley said, "I'm so excited to be hosting Mencap's Little Noise Sessions for the seventh year running! What's more, we're back at St John-at-Hackney Church, which inspired a truly electric atmosphere for fans and artists alike last year – there really is nothing more extraordinary than seeing big artists perform in such an intimate and beautiful venue. We have a week of incredible shows lined up, all in aid of Mencap and supporting people with a learning disability. I'll see you there."
To register for pre-sale tickets sign up to Mencap Little Noises' backstage area www.littlenoisesessions.org.uk/subscribe. Registration opens today, and will last until Monday 8th October, when general tickets go on sale, with all proceeds going to the learning disability charity, Mencap.
There are 1.5 million people with a learning disability in the UK, who are
among the most excluded and disadvantaged people in our society. Money
raised at Mencap's Little Noise Sessions will go to Mencap arts awards
projects to help people with a learning disability. Mencap directly supports
people with a learning disability to live their lives as they choose and
challenge prejudice.
